Landlord Insurance - Simple

I'm just in the process of renewing the buildings and contents insurance on my rental property and have had a very good quote from a company called Simple Landlords Insurance (http://www.simplelandlordsinsurance.com).

Has anyone ever heard of them or used them?

I notice their policies are underwritten by Fortis which increases my confidence a little; I'm just a bit wary of using a company I've never heard of.

Any experience/opinions re this company?

Thanks in advance.

I see that they and other landlord insurance companies are now available on cashback sites, so could be an added bonus.

most certainly not a bad thing but are they a good company to deal with if not then the cash back is not worth it.

Yes I did. I found no problem at all with taking out the policy and my 12% cashback in Quidco tracked successfully and was paid quickly :-).

However, I haven't had to make a claim or phone them so can't comment on how good they are in that respect.

  • Pete,

I am an underwriter for a specialist let property insurance company and would be delighted to assit you with this matter. Fortis are a well known insurance company, but with all insurance it is not just the quality if the insurer that should be taken into account. Things to look for in residential landlords policy wordings include things like does it include damage done by the tenant to your buildings by malicious damage of does theft cover get included. Does the policy extend to include legal expenses if you need to evict the tenant?

    Look forward to helping.
