i lost my uncle on saturday after a couple of months in hospital. i am his next of kin and have started to go through his paperwork. because he was in hospital before his death i found uncashed incapacity benefit cheques in his flat. can i still pay them into his bank account? they say 'cash within one month' - do you think they will honour the older ones?
thanks, it is all a bit overwhelming.

You might have to do some paperwork to be able to operate his bank account, I think I’d try and pay them in and if you get knocked back then send them back to the benefit office and get them re-issued0

I've no experience of this but as long as he was entitled to them, I'd just pay them in.
I can't see any bank worrying about money being paid into an account. If you were trying to take it out, it would be a different matter.0 -
