dealing with late relatives finances - uncashed cheques

i lost my uncle on saturday after a couple of months in hospital. i am his next of kin and have started to go through his paperwork. because he was in hospital before his death i found uncashed incapacity benefit cheques in his flat. can i still pay them into his bank account? they say 'cash within one month' - do you think they will honour the older ones?
thanks, it is all a bit overwhelming.
i wish i was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum,
'cause how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out your bum!!!

You might have to do some paperwork to be able to operate his bank account, I think I’d try and pay them in and if you get knocked back then send them back to the benefit office and get them re-issued

I've no experience of this but as long as he was entitled to them, I'd just pay them in.

I can't see any bank worrying about money being paid into an account. If you were trying to take it out, it would be a different matter.
