Feel like a rubbish parent right now..

I have had a foot op booked and ongoing since january, the hospital have repeatedly changed it and it has had to be cancelled time and time again..i have it eventually tommorow..i have time booked of work which long stort has meant i am not getting paid and even though i am not looking forward to it i will be glad to get it out of the way.

It is dd's day to look round her secondary school tommorow and this morning i had an awful feeling that i have mucked up the times..i have just rung the hospital and i have..i am so cross with myself for not checking sooner although it is too late in the day to do anything i am dreading telling dd i will not be coming..hoping she can still go with my friend who we were going with but feel very guilty right now.

Ring the school and see if there is some other time you can go to an Open Day (with or without your daughter). Still let your daughter go tomorrow
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Thanks! there is no other open day this is it grr! it is during school hours too so no phones unfortunately..i have rung my friend and she is very happy to take my dd with hers (they are best friends)..i'm hoping once she gets there she will forget i'm not!..it just seems such a big step to a school that she will more than likely go to and i'm not there. Hey ho these things happen and think it's the first time i have had to not go to something, so she will have to cope as such!
Thanks again for your kind words!

I am sure your DD wil understand how important this op is and when she gets back from the tour you can both have a lovely time talking about the day!

You probably won't be allowed to photograph/video due to Child Protection issues ... but you should be able to organise an independent visit for you to view the school at another time, after your daughter has gone tomorrow

Hope all works out for you
  • Most schools would be more than happy to arrange a time for you to do a separate visit after your op. If you ring the school and explain, hopefully they can organise a separate time for you.

Hi thanks..well she went and seemed to like it..hard to tell not being there but she said it was just different to the other one as the kids were there this time so no free run! said it was much bigger than the grammar so we will see!
    thanks
