Post Office Mastercard Credit card

Hello, i would like some help on the Post Office Credit Card.

I am going on Holiday to Greece.
I spoke to the Customer service at th PO and am still a bit confused as to the best options for getting my Euros.

1. Cash Withdrawal abroad: use the Credit card for getting Euros at an ATM in Greece
OR
2. Cash advance in the UK of about £400 and buy Euros at PO
OR
3. Buy euros with the Credit Card in the UK.

I dont really understand the amount of interest per day, they told me i would be charged after the Cash advance:huh: too much info for a Monday!!
Appreciate any help please Jaithai.

I don't think any of these options are particularly good or viable.

All of these options include a cash withdrawel either in the UK or abroad. Thats a big no no on any credit card as you'll incurr steep interest rates from the day its withdrawn until its completely paid off.

You really need to get some cash from your bank account and get the post office to change them into euros (not using the credit card). You can then use the credit card once your abroad for all your goods/services as this is commision and interest free but do not withdrawel any euros from a ATM as this will ocur interest.
  • Hello, SimbaK2K
Thank-you for your kind reply to my Questions.
I will certainly take your advice and use Cash to buy the Euros.
You have saved me a fortune from your Knowledge
All the very best of luck and thanks once again for the warning.

  • Post Office Mastercard is free to use on purchases abroad and you get a good rate of exchange too so im also confused as to why they have given you those options?

Its a great card though, so dont be too put off. As long as you use it for purchases only you will be fine.
