Student Train Travel

I am a student studying in scotland in my 2nd year at university and i currently travel into edinburgh everyday via train and then a bus. I did have a young persons railcard which gave me up to 50% off season passes on the train and i had a bus card which gave me a 1/3 off buses. These have both recently run out as i have turned 19. I am not too concerned with the bus pass but my train fare will go from around £80 a month to £160 and as i don't get any travel claims back at the end of the year because of my parents' income i am looking for a way to save money. I know there is a 16-25 railcard but i don't think there is much point in it as you can't use it before 10am and you don't get anything off season passes. Does anyone else know of any other discounts i am enabled to?

I there any other way for you to get into the city? So instead of taking the train, take the bus? Buses are usually cheaper and usually have more deals than trains, even if they take a bit longer.0
