Experience World in liquidation-day out ruined

Some advice please.
For my 40th Birthday last March I was given a voucher for 'thrash' in a Ferrari. The voucher was bought by my sister using a debit card in February from Experience World (www experience-world co uk)
The voucher was valid to December 2009.
I claimed my voucher in August when I booked my actual date, yesterday 26th Sep 2.30pm.
Experience World were the agents and Drivers Dream Days the event facilitators (www driversdream days co uk)
When I turned up at the venue, Long Marston in the Midlands, having travelled from South Wales, I was told that if I wanted to drive, I had to pay as the agents had gone into liquidation 'last week.' I suggested that as I 'd claimed my voucher last month the contract now existed between themselves as event facilitators and myself. They did not agree and I duly paid again to follow through on the 'experience.'
Neither the agent or event facilitator had tried to contact me despite my contact details being clear on the booking form they were in possession of.
I was one of only 2 people affected at that venue that day that had gone through experience world and I'm guessing Dream Days thought (correctly) that having travelled, family too, they had me over a barrel and I'd stump up again.
Neither website still has any info on Experience World being in liquidation. In fact Experience World seems to be taking orders online. (Fraudulent?)
Anyway, could anyone advise what, if anything I or my sister can claim back?

When you booked the experience, did you book it through the agent or the event facilitator?
Did the event people know you were coming and were expecting you?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
My sister booked the event through the agent.
Yes, I have written confirmation that the event facilitator were expecting me.
I emailed the agent last night and got a reply today, very apologetic but confirmed they went into the hands of the receivers on the 7th September and are no longer trading. Although nothing is posted on their site, the 'payment gateway has apparently been blocked.'
So basically the event facilitator knew about this situation for almost 3 weeks.0 -
And?
The event facilitator isnt going to give you it for free.
Your contract was with the agent and thus you need to notifiy the receivers of your creditor claim and wait to get your 2p or whatever.
Its unfortunate but you have no grievance against the facilitator who probably doesnt receive payments til shortly before or after the days from agents.0 -
As a facilitator, we too have been hit by Experience World's liquidation and are chasing, in vain now I'm sure, for money outstanding to us for customer experiences which have taken place, but for which we haven't been paid.
As I'm sure you've seen, Experience World Ltd have been taken over by Attraction World Limited, who are using the same domain name in any case, just the site's changed.
Let's hope that the new company manages themselves better than the previous counterparts (assuming of course that they are in fact different!) and that no other poor souls (customers and facilitators) don't get taken for a ride like us!0 -
If you have paid on credit card contact your bank you will get a chargeback for non receipt of service.
If its debit card i think you would be ok for a similar chargeback as you have not received the service paid for. not 100% on the debit card side of things thou
I did a chargeback today for the same company:)
all the best0
