For what it's worth I think you are definitely doing the right thing continuing to volunteer, as that is an investment in your future that you're right not to give up for short-term gain.
In terms of making some extra money, how about selling books on Amazon or clothes on eBay that you buy from jumble sales and charity shops?0 -
