insurance on stolen items

Ok my partner got some new power tools for work on his credit card sadly the tools were stolen less than a month after purchase is there any way off getting the money for new or the items paid off the credit card?

I would not have thought so unless covered by an insurance scheme offered by the card lender.
Without knowing which card they were bought on its impossible to say.

Can he not claim on his car insurance? (If taken ftom his vehicle) or home insurance?

Credit card companies are liable for goods costing over £100 at the time of purchase in the same way that a shop would be liable.

If you didnt use your credit card, and paid cash, and there was a fault with the item, you could take it back for a replacement/refund. If you pay with credit card and the same thing happens and the shop wont play ball, you can claim from your credit card. If your items are stolen you have no come back on the shop/credit card as it was not their fault - that is what insurance is for.

Some cards do provide insurance.
You'd have to check whether it was a benefit with that card or at least let us know that card company.
They do have terms and conditions so for example, leaving them on open display in a car might not be covered.
Again you'd have to chcek that out.

Why not jsut give them a ring and ask?
