No claims bonus?

I was in the scrappage scheme and my car insurance ran out in July. My car MOT ran out in June after I placed the order, so I declared it SORN. It was stolen and recovered at my cost. Does my NCB still stand when asking for insurance against the new car? I didn't make a claim as it wasn't covered at the time, and it was stolen and found. Thanks for any advice.

AFAIK the NCD offered to you by your insurer when they quoted you for renewal is valid with any other insurer for a period of 2 years. Suggest you ring them to check.

There are a few Insurers that accept the no claims bonus for a period of upto three years from when the previous policy lapsed or was cancelled.

You may have to declare the theft of the vehicle to some of the Insurers you are obtaining quotes from. Most companies will ask a question along the lines of "Have you had any accidents or made a claim or have had any incidents that would have been covered by the policy you are applying for"

If it is worded along these lines you will need to declare the theft claim
