Well done for taking Tiddles to the quack Piggers - hope the op goes smoothly and well.

I am really tired. 3 coats of varnish have gone on the section of floor where the settee goes and it's now back in situ. More floorboards scrubbed down.

Tomorrow, I'm going to move the china cabinet (~groan~ means emptying it first!) and sort out the bit under there then that's that section along one wall complete. I'm employing an AnW'sMum trade marked dot to dot approach!

Aww, hope little one gets better soon!

Thanks, she's been asleep most of the day, she didn't touch lunch but I've been able to get fluid into her via ice pops which is helping with her temperature, hoping it's not swine flu as it's going around the schools here:eek:

Just popped on for a quick catch up. Looks like lots of healing vibes & hugs are needed, so sending to Mudbaths DS, Pigpen DD, Trikers friend, L-L and Toots..

Well better post something about flying while I'm here. Um, what have I done? Made the spag bolog & lentil bolog, I think I got my quantities abit wrong & ended up with 5 big portions of each so plenty for the freezer for nice quick tea's when we're late back from work. Obviously the kitchen was wrecked by the time I'd finished, I always seem to manage to splatter tomato juice all over place, so the kitchen has had a big clean & all the dishes done. Also swept through downstairs. Meant to do some filing and shredding but it just didn't happen. The cats are in now & one of them is scared of the shredder so that'll have to wait til later/tomorrow.

I had a look online last night at those daylight alarm clocks..hmmm the price!! I think it might have to wait, they do sound very good but definately not MSE!

Right OH will be back in a mo so better go put the kettle on. Catch you all later

Pigpen, aww poor Tiddles, hope she gets it sorted soon, bless her little self. xx
    bless her...

I just 'lost it' with DD:o
because she is making tiffin and wanted to do it by herself and I went in - she had the choc melting over a BOILING pan (as opposed to simmering) in a bowl much too small (big enough for the chocolate only) and NO other ingredients prepped ready!
anyway it's sorted now - but it has meant tea is later than I intended.
The ready rolled pastry was a bit poor (it was whoopsied in sainsbugs at 40p and I have carefully and slowly thawed it) was all cracked. So I had to gather it and reroll it. Still not bad for 40p!

Just flung my two pennorth in on the spelling, grammar and punctuation thread.;)

Afternoon everyone. Not long in from the very cold play park. The fire is lit so should warm up soon IF the dog would stop leaving the back door wide open.

Good news today, we were in major arrears on the gas and electric - and after the meter readings I did last week it is clear the new thermostat has worked! Gas bill was £155 for the last six months, it was nearly that per month last year due to the boiling hot water 24 hours a day that we couldn't switch off. We are now back in credit. £50 investment that has really paid off, and I can change supplier now.

Dusty have I missed your quarry tile pictures? I would love to see them.

I have done some investigations, and as far as we can work out the floors downstairs have all been sealed with bitumen, and then mostly covered with cheap modern yellow quarry tiles that are quite hideous. Probably all done to block the damp from a cellar under the house. Some patches of the tiles have then also been covered with concrete and not in places where a rug would work so sadly not an option. Back to the drawing board on this one.

I just need to wash the boys bedding and their room will be finished too. Too late to get it through and done in time for bed time so it can wait for the morning.

and vibes for Tiddles, Mudbaths DS, Lady L, Trikers mate, Toots, Toots nephew, Mummyof5s DS2 and anyone else who needs/wants them!
