Im in this week too. Managed to catch up a bit from last week, but not much to boast about. Glad its the Kitchen tomorrow, cos I would like to try to get a star for that lol.

Going for a cuppa before I go to bed. Went to see Fame tonight, for anyone who hasnt seen it but wants to, dont go, its nothing like the Fame from the 80's, there is no story to it, very very disappointing.

  • :hello:Hi please can i join all you lovely people in trying to sort my house out?

I first started flylady about 4 years ago and thankfully a lot of the principles have stuck with me, but i am very fed up with the groundhog dayness and feeling like it never ends. What i loved about flying before was the feeling that "the jobs for today are done", and i never feel this at the moment.

With three young children it means that i am always busy doing housework rather than enjoying them so its time to get a better system going, which allows me to not feel like the house has to be immaculate all the time. I decided to read the end of last weeks thread to get a list in order and found tootifrooti's "two glasses of wine", and felt a lightbulb switch on. That just put my thoughts into words.

In a nutshell my house is surface tidy and clean but with three school runs a day for the last year and until 5th October (due to my middle angel being in nursery and now starting reception), i never get around to doing the deeper bits such as windows, decobwebbing, skirtings etc. I am quite ruthless at decluttering but always eem to do it in big chunks rather than on a consistent basis. And its bugging me...

Also returning to work soon so time for it will be even more limited.

The most important thing for me in doing this is not to have an immaculate house but to feel that its ok for it to look like five people live in it, and to make time to play with the littluns' before they are not so little anymore.

Sorry for the essay, but hopefully by writing it down i will reinforce it in myself.

    Heres my list:

    Morning ladies!yawn2.gif

Thank you as usual to Pigpen, toots and soappie.
:xmastree::xmastree: for Sunny Angel two posts above me so the powers that be can add her to the list! And welcome Angel honey, you will love it here.
Hi Sassi - good luck for this week!
Valli, Mrs B, Sarah et al - you all really made me laugh when I read back Saturday night, thank you for that!
Dusty - My landing has a concrete statue of easter island type head which was meant for the garden but once it was in the flat, it never got carried out again it was so heavy; two pairs of shoes, a seed tray with three pkts of seeds in it to be carried outside supposedly though it's been there for about a week; a roll of black duct tape and one lone battery, both to go down to the utility room. We also have a fitted bookcase that is overflowing with books and on top of that is an assortment of books without a home, a bowl of dusty pot pourri, 3 pens and a dragon.
Toots - I loved that fable! Thank you for posting it.
Soappie - no, we love a roast dinner here too. Had chicken this week. My OH's roast potatoes are legendary! Sometimes if Sundays are too busy we even have the roast on the Monday.
Moam - I love 21 day hung beef but to be frank, pork crackling makes me drool; roast chicken breast is lovely and I am one of the few who ADORE roast turkey so I would be hard pressed to choose a fave! I just hate lamb so that's off the menu.

Anyway, my list for today is as follows -
Feed the cat at least twicecat.gif
    Brush the cat
    Sort and delete 10 emails
    reply to emails
    Clean bathroom sink
Spray bleach on the bottoms of the shower curtains
    Fill WM and put on
    Make sammys for OH lunch
    [STRIKE]Put breadmaker on[/STRIKE]

    Extras
    Sort out cat blanket
Post card - need big stamp
    Ring vets
    research dual fuel tariffs online
Check hall smoke alarm - lounge one works - that was 'checked' yesterday when OH was making bacon sandwiches giggle.gif
Polish computer keyboard and screen and tv
    Edge the second muslin cloth
Work out GC spending for this week and amend siggy (nag OH)

I hope you all have a successful day flying. hugs.gifto all who need them.

    Morning All

DH rang me at 5.45 to see if I was up on the one day DS slept in until 6! Then asked me why I'd got out of bed - err cause the phone was ringing.

Didn't have a very good night's sleep last night which wasn't helped by the fact that I didn't go until 11 as I was watching Dirty Dancing so I'm shattered this morning. But I'm just going to get the ironing board out as the kids' jumpers are in the TD.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Hugs

    Morning all.

Been up since 5, because DS1 is off on a school trip to Cambridge until tomorrow tea time. We didn't have to be at the school until 6.30, but I really wasn't organised yesterday and left a lot of the washing until late - he then brought me all the things he absolutely had to take.

At least it's given me the time to have a quick look at the thread and I should get to work in good time for a change.

I'll have a go at the list for today and add extras if I have time - the exchange student will be arriving in less than two weeks... The dining room will have to wait one more week though - I'd rather try to bottom the kitchen, because it's much smaller.

    Have a great week, everyone.
  • Morning all!

I'm still recovering from the last episode of House!........

Need to get off my butt and crack on with the ironing!

  • Morning ALl.
thanks Pigpen Toots and Valli for the lists and stars.

Did you notice I was gone.

Have been trying to sort out a few things that needed doing on the house. Have a tiler coming to do the kitchen on Saturday. Hope he is good.

I may do a few HHC in the garden today but will see what the weather i like as it doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind.
also want to get my college homework out the way
