Hi
I have a Lite-On DVD burner. All was ok for about a year but now im having major problems. Whenever i try to copy a DVD it always fails when it is reading the DVD. It says that the problem was "unable to locate layer break"
When you download something and then add that to Nero and burn it to DVD you have no problems, it is just copying thats the problems.
I have tried Nero, Clone etc etc, they all fail. CDs copy without any problems though. Any ideas please?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you are trying to copy dvd9 disks and it cant find the second layer... This is also a copy protection that some disks use. try to copy a disk you have done before to see if it is disk specific0

No this isnt the problem. I have tried to do disks i have copied before, they are copies themselves some of them and still no luck. The strange thing is that sometimes they do copy, say once out of 10 attempts. When it does actually copy it takes about 20 minutes to copy as well, this is strange as it used to only take a couple of minutes.0 -
Sounds like the DVD laser is on its way out... Try a disk cleaner... but you may have to replace it0

It could be down to the speed the original copy was writen higher speed burn are usually not as reliable as slower burns. try making an image from the original and burn from that.0
