anyone know the best and cheapest way to do this?i want to leave next saturday and return the sunday or monday.im on a oil rig the now and the company has blocked a lot of the sites im trying to check prices on.ta

The best I can find using Advance Singles is £77.50 return changing at Crewe and Stockport each way.

An Off Peak Return is £81.60.

£4.10 buys you flexibility and a quicker journey.

thanks keith there good prices,but i should have said i need to leave after 1 oclock,my mate doesnt finish work until then,might try and get him to get a day off.thanks again.

Edinburgh Wav to Manchester Pic Oct 3rd 14:11 Advance single £19
Manchester Pic to Stoke on Trent Off Peak Return £12.90

Stoke on Trent to Manchester Pic Off Peak Return £0 (return part of off peak ticket)
Manchester Pic to Edinburgh Wav Oct 5th 18:16 £19 Advance single
Total £50.90

Just give yourself plenty of time to catch the train from Manchester to Edinburgh at least 45min, Advance tickets means you must travel on those trains detailed, Off Peak return tickets means you can travel on any off peak trains
