Travelcard, season ticket, oyster confusion

Hi Everyone,
I am somewhat confused as to the cheapest London travelling option from Wraysbury Station to Vauxhall. I keep getting conflicting advice from officials - can someone clear it up for me?
Currently I am getting a 13.70 return ticket on a daily basis (Mon-Fri).
Thanks in advance

Season tickets are:
£53.90 a week or £207 a month.
If Oyster PAYG has started you need to find out what it charges for SWT journeys - given that it's very recent (if it has - there have been some delays) it may well be not that clear yet. Then compare that with your daily tickets and seasons
A travelcard will probably not be cheaper, as it will allow for travel in a wider area.0 -
While that's your cheapest trainticket, if money is a big concern, you could get a bus to Heathrow Terminal 5, and a tube from there. That would be £7 return per day for the tube, not sure about the bus.
The bus is only a 12 minute ride -- a bike would be another option. The tube is about an hour.0 -
There are three main sorts of tickets you can get
Wraysbury to Zone 2-6 (Vauxhall is on the boundary of zone 1-2, so is valid), and is valid on tubes, buses etc in zones 2-6, but not zone 1.
£53.90 per week
£207 per month
£2156 per annum
Wraysbury to London Terminals (which includes going to Vauxhall).
£55 a week
£211.20 a month
£2200 per annum
Or if you do any travelling in central London a Wraysbury to Zone 1-6 Travelcard
£69 a week
£265 a month
£2760 per annum
If you decide monthly tickets are best, you can buy them for any period over a month, with any extra days being charged at the fraction of the number of days in that month (eg January at 1/31, February at 1/28). So buy one form Monday to Friday in 5 weeks time, then you lose the cost for a weekend.
For example, a Wraysbury to Zone 2-6 from Monday 28th September to Friday 30th October would cost £228, so an another £21 for the extra two days. Then you start another one from Monday 2nd November.0 -
Comstock made an interesting post on your previous thread,
where he said...Ah-ha, now this is interesting. No, honestly it is

It would seem that the 81 bus from Heathrow to Slough, which passes Colnbrook, is included in the travelcard scheme. That means that £47 a week would cover
1) All tube and bus fares to and from work.
2) Any other tube/DLR/bus journies the OP fancied making (perhaps making the most of London in his/her spare time)
3) Unlimited bus travel into Slough also- for weekend shopping perhaps.
From a money saving POV, I reckon you'd struggle to beat that.0 -
No, not yet. January 2010 is the current proposed start date.If Oyster PAYG has started you need to find out what it charges for SWT journeys - given that it's very recent (if it has - there have been some delays) it may well be not that clear yet.Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -

Thought as much, but couldn't find an answer quickly.
When that happens OP will need to find out what Oyster charges for SWT journeys and whether a daily cap applies, as it does with TfL services, and then compare the results with the figures already given.0 -

£=
It would be valid on buses in zone 1. Zones on London buses do not exist since Oystercards were introduced about 4 years ago. Any Travelcard is valid on any bus, regardless of which zones the Travelcard is for, or which zone the bus is in.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
