Press Ctrl + T and then type in your new web address in the address bar of the new tab that pops up. To close it either click the small X on the right hand side of the tab bar or press Ctrl + W0

Or if you want to open a link in a new tab just hold down the CTRL button when you click on the link0

Or just middle-click the link (using the mouse wheel) which also opens in a new tabuser1234 wrote:Or if you want to open a link in a new tab just hold down the CTRL button when you click on the link
Duplicate tab is also a great little extension
There are some really big tab preferences extensions, but I prefer this little one. Apart from letting you duplicate tabs, it also gives you tha ability to select a tab and throw it out to a new window, and also to merge windows.
