Argos Product Insurance

Options
I bought my sons a Nintendo DS each for Christmas last year. I don't normally but warranty insurances but the lady explained it would be a good buy as it covered accidental damage which was more likely when a child is the main user. She sold it to me well and I bought the insurance.

A few days ago, my youngest son was getting out the car and somehow managed to drop the DS on the drive. The bottom screen broke.

Took it back to Argos and explained and the whole process was quick and simple. Had to fill in a short form, and they gave him a new DS. They also let me buy a new insurance policy for the replacement console, so he's got another three years cover on it.

It's definitely worth getting the insurance if you are thinking of buying portable consoles this Christmas and you have a child as clumsy as mine!
Here I go again on my own....

Good to see product insurance has some uses!
  • I always get it for earphones...even the expensive ones break so easily and the insurance is only an extra couple of quid.

i had a customer once in argos (when i worked as xmas temp) who told me when returning walkman - always buy the argos insurance as the bloody things dont last six months and she hasnt had to actually buy a new walkman for the last 5 years - she just takes out the insurance on every set she returned! cost? about 5.95 at the time. it even covers the headphones!

Me too, I'm guaranteed to break them within 3 years.
