Freeview & E4 (Big Brother)

Firstly, apologies if this in in the wrong place, not sure where else to ask.
My mum loves Big Brother and last year she had Sky and watched it all day (sad, I know) ... however she hasn't got Sky now so wants to buy a Freeview box to watch BB on E4.
On Sky, she used to be able to press the red button and watch it interactive during the day from them waking up, but none of us are sure if you can do this with freeview.
Does anyone know if she can watch it all day, or just the normal Freeview programmes on E4?
BTW, she is thinking of buying the Durabrand box (I think its from Asda) as she only wants it for BB.
Thanks in advance
(Yes, I would lock mother up for this but seeing as it's her only pleasure in life what can I do, lol)

I think you haven't got a red button with freeview. so its E4 only (or E4+1 if you've missed a bit).
I thought the live feeds from any room disappeared off sky last year and were available to buy off the website only.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks ...Last year you couldn't choose who to watch like previous years, but they did have a live feed throughout the day ... Never even gave the website a thought, mum has a computer too ... but it might be a bit much on her eyes, lol.0

Can anyone tell us if it's possible to 'unscramble' the channels that show up as 'scrambled'?0

Last year freeview had 24 hour coverage via the red button, but the "space" that C4 used for that is now used for a different channel. Channel 4 could use one of the "+1" channels (although I think More4+1 is reserved for when Film Four moves to freeview in July).
Some people claim that they have asked Channel 4 and had the response that they do plan to have 24hr streaming via the red button, while others claim Channel 4 have told them it will be only available in certain parts of the country.
I think in short we will have to wait until BB comes on air to find out.0 -
To 'unscramble' you have to subscribe to 'top up tv'

Hi! Glad someone else asked this question (yes I am sad and love BB!!)

We got rid of dastardly Sky last year, and we use the old sky box as a Freeview box, and we have never been able to get E4!??! Is there a reason why? Do we have to buy a freeview box properly to get it?
If so, what freeview boxes can you buy that enable you to plug your Sky Dish cable in. or does it HAVE to be an ariel??Lightbulb Moment - November 2005

You need to tell the box to search for channels again. I can't remember how to do it, try the digital spy forum.what freeview boxes can you buy that enable you to plug your Sky Dish cable in.
Sky dish cables need to go into sky boxes. Ariel leads from your TV ariel go into freeview boxes.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. i'm not sure whether channel 4/e4 are doing 24 hour live streaming this year, i think i heard somewhere that they were only doing it online and you have to pay. i may be wrong though.0

According to a post on Digital Spy, Big Brother will be streamed 24hrs a day on freeview via the red button on E4 until mid July (when F4 is launched). Then it will only be available during E4 downtime.0
