Can anyone help before I have to take it in for fixing. I thought the keyboard needed cleaning as sometimes the keys dont work. ie, if i'm typing at a regular speed, it "misses" letters out. eg; I typed in regular in the previous sentence & it came out eguar. This happens with the space bar & back key too. I posted on here & it was suggested that the keyboard needed cleaning, so I got the proper kit- canned air & keybord cleaner & cloths, but it is still doing it. I'm not techie so I dont feel comfortable taking the keys orcomplete keyboard out, so if it is not something simple, I would have to get someone to do it fo me. Any suggestions what it might be?

Have you done a virus or malware scan recently?0

I think removing the keyboard and cleaning the contacts would be the best option. This isn't usually too technical - maybe a couple of screws to remove underneath. The best option would be to Google the laptop model for "service manual", sometimes you can find a step by step walkthrough.
Is it always the same keys, or is it random.0 -

Good question. 'R' and spacebar look like candidates.0 -
Thanks guys, I do a regular virus check, but I will run a thorough clean up now. It is random letters & keys, not always the same ones. A strange thing here. I am typing this as my first task of the day & it is performing ok. I'm wondering if it means that as the laptop warms up, thats when it gets worse. Just running things through my head.
Actually, it missed a couple then, so maybe I should discount that theory.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0
