PPI Advice needed

Hi My name is Jonathan and I recently tried to reclaim my miss sold payment protection insurance after I was approached by a company called Total Refund who claimed that they could get the money back very quickly.
They did not tell me that they would be forwarding my case to solicitors as part of there process and that the solicitor would take 25% of the money I get back if I was successful. I did not receive ANY terms or conditions and was charged a fee of £70 up front by Total Refund.
They passed the case to the solicitor who then passed it to the Ombudsman service. I didn't hear any information on the progress and the Ombudsmans service eventually told me that the claim was presented as a new claim after they had held on to it for a period of around 3 months. Due to the time lapse, the Ombudsman's service said that the complaint had expired and they could do no more.
Can anyone give me any advice please?

You have to put in a complaint through the companies complaint service. If you don't get a satisfactory response you have to lodge a complaint through the ministry of justice.0
