They have some pre-booking deals for the bikes so it would be worth calling their customer services for the dates you are looking at.
  • hi centreparcs is great (sherwood forest) the swimming pool is the best Ive been to

are you going to do things on the night time etc or are you going to just sit in the lodge?

yes you can go free swimming but after the 3rd night it would be a bit ground hog day..

I think your doing this wrong your going to a higher price bracket holiday and not leaving much to spend

why not find a cheaper holiday and spend a little money

the logs are 99p from B&M and burn for 2 hours

I've said it before but the best way to do Center Parcs on the cheap is to go to Europe.

I was looking at the weekend about booking a Mon - Fri holiday for Feb Half Term at De Vossemeren in Belgium. For 4 adults and 4 kids in a Premium Villa it's 480 Euros. Even with ferry crossings it's so much cheaper and the ones in Europe are just as good.

We have been to all of the UK ones over the years. We normally eat out for one night but cook on the other nights and we don't book many atctivties. The kids are happy to spend every afternoon in the pool and do a bit of cycling. We take our own bikes aas well. So overall we don't spend a vast amount once we're there.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Hi, we're off to Center Parcs next week Have been many times and agre with whats been said - its as cheap or expensive as you make it. Take own bikes and food, use pool, walk. We book the Party on the Parc buffet as a last night treat as it seems good value. Usually kids etc to tired to do much in evenings so a meal & dvd in villa are welcome

Thanks, we were planning on staying in and doing our own cooking most nights (maybe eat out one night) our little one is usually in bed by 7pm so it will work out best for us. We will do our shop beforehand in a supermarket.

We are not planning on spending much on activities. Just hire of bikes, again any idea on cost with trailer??? as our little one is too young to make use of much else other than the pool (which is a main reason for going!).

We've been on a few Hoeseasons lodge breaks but fancied something different and we love cycling too. I think we'll give it a go anyway
  • We've been to CP several times. This won't work for everyone, but we usually go with another family ( good friends ), and book one large villa that will accommodate us all. A villa that sleeps 8 is less than twice the price of one that sleeps 4, if you see what I mean, so when you split the cost between the 2 families it works out quite a bit cheaper. Plus the kids have a great time playing with their friends, so don't want to be constantly entertained.

Like I said, it won't work for everyone, but it's worth considering. Other than that, I concur with others RE taking your own food, bikes etc.

Ebe Scrooge - I agree - should have mentioned that - we usually share a large villa with friends or family which brings down the cost a lot. The villas easily accomodate a large group as they have extra loos and bathrooms. And, of course, the children always have someone to play with.

Yes, that is a good idea re. booking with friends but for our first time (and my birthday treat) I fancied just a family break. If we like it then in the future I think that's a far better deal.

We do have bikes but no rack and want to hire a trailer too...again

We are going over Christmas to Longleat for 5 nights and the hire charge is £20 for the trailer. I'm not sure if this is the normal price for a midweek or weekend. I could only get this price from looking at my booking and requesting one.
You'll be able to access exact prices once your booking is made, or contact customer services before hand as they'll give you a real figure. (there may be an offer for your dates)

Centre parcs pricing is really dead simple; Typically for 3 or 4 bed new woodland style lodge.

Start as your base with midweek term time, £200
double it for a term time weekend - £400
Double that for a school holiday midweek - £800
Double that for a school holiday weekend. - £1600

    Simples!!
