How do I go about doing a credit card chargeback for a payment made through Paypal? I've never done a chargeback, and can't find specific instructions on how to in Paypal.
Any help appreciated.

Just a tip to get you an answer, but it might be better asking at the eBay forums Alicia!0

Yup, I can do that. I was hoping for some general info on chargeback too.
But thank you.

Make sure you exhaust all paths that paypal/ebay offer first. Paypal dont look kindly upon people who do chargebacks through their credit card company.... you may well be banned.0

You do a chargeback through your own card issuer not paypal/ ebay. They will ask you to send a letter in with the cause of the dispute and ask that you provide any documentary evidence to support your dispute.
Really you should use the paypal dispute resolution system first and only if they dont resolve it as you believe it should then you would contact your card issuer and speak to their disputed payment team. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

It's a shame pay pal only offer dispute resolution for 45 days. With credit card it's 120.0

Hey, I got my money back off my credit card company.
The merchant has 2nd presented which is basically disputing my chargeback!
His reason is that he has sent the goods, and included a picture of the item in a box. This doesn't mean it's my item though?! Also he has written my name and address on a label and says thats proof of postage!!!
I am under the imopression that the guy needs proof of delivery anyway?! If he provides that then he has made it up!0 -
Can't forge proof of delivery, not easily anyway. Depends on which company delivered it.0

Slightly off topic, a couple of years ago, I ordered a laptop battery charger, from a website specialising in computing hardware. It didn't arrive as promised by courier, so I called the company, they said, yep its been delivered, and emailed me proof of delivery (a scan of my signature) - turns out my signature had been forged. Anyway, the company were very helpful, and sent a replacement same day by Royal Mail. So, I would say proof of delivery can be forged.0
