Utility Companies - Where to Start?
Moving into a flat very soon. The flat is NOT new so already has Gas, Electric and Water Connected.
Say for example the flat is already connected through Southern Water, British Gas and Southern Electric, when I move in do I have to stay with these companies?
Also how can I find the cheapest supplier? I have tried uSwitch but you have to enter the amount you are currently paying (I am not paying anything)
Also does in generally work out cheaper to get the gas and electric from the same supplier?

Sorry to post on your thread but i am also in the same boat as you. Getting new flat from the council that is connected to all the utility compaines allready and with Card Meters for Gas and Electric. Do you suggest i also do the same as the above as in take readings when we get them or do card meters not give readings.
