Hi guys, a friend of mine recently won a laptop on ebay, it was one where the seller accidentally misspelled something, therefore the price was very low. After, ( main issue here i think) he won he recieved an email saying that the laptop couldnt be sold anymore as it had just been dropped and was not working.
Since this is after the contract had effectively been signed has the transaction got to go through? (It seems dodgy that such a good deal happened to be damaged... lol )
Regards.

It does sound rather convienent! Keep an eye out on the profile to see if it reappears for sale again.
Or you could take a risk, and say that's ok, send it on but you'll need to reduce the price for the cost of repairs. Big risk though and I probably wouldn't advise this!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
IMO if your friends got his money back, tell him to walk away and chalk it up to experience.
I've been on both ends (accidentally) of this on Ebay and it can cause loads of bad feeling - if not trouble.
It's not usually worth the hassle and it might have been a scam to start with. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
For Money_Grabber13579 : It does seem very convenient - thats why i think its dodgy, probably went for a lot less than he wanted to sell it for, but didnt set a reserve.
For quidsinquentin (love the name btw): I agree that trouble could come from it and its not worth that, its things like this tho that give these sites bad names. If it reeally is an accident then fair does, it cant be sold, if its not tho... then thats not cricket0 -
If the seller has lots of positive feedback then it is probably a mistake, so learn from it and move on. If the seller has any negative or dodgy looking feedback then leave another negative one, then learn from it and move on.0

Yeah especially if the sellers negative feedback are about them convienently breaking the laptop being sold.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740
