Hi all
Just wanted a bit of advice. A property was sold some time ago but has just come back on the market again recently. The EA said it was because the previous purchasers could not get the finances. Me and my partner viewed it a few weeks ago and put in an offer of £195,000 (was up for £205,000) and was told by the EA that the offer has been accepted. Should we have got this in writing for the EA? We are in the process of sorting out the mortgage (we are going ahead with the mortgage and leaving our current property up for sale. A friend was supposed to be buying it but were not sure now so are going to put it with an EA this week) Anyway we have appointed a solicitor and teh couple know that we are serious. Howver, when we went to view the property again this week my partner asked the lady selling the house if the EA had put her in the picture with our situation about the friend who was supposed to be buying our property etc. She said she didn't know. I am now feeling abit nervous about things. The lady has said that she wants us to have the house and even sad about leaving things from the house as they wont need them. Do you think we should ring the EA and ask them to put it in writing that our offer has been accepted? or do we need to do anything else? Any advice woud be greatly appreciated as I am worried in case we lose the house? Do you think we should view the property again and clarify with the couple selling what is going on and make it very clear that we are buying the house?

All offers i have had excepted in the past have been sent to me in writing. You have not made it clear in your post if you need to sell your present house first. If not your friend buying your house is irrelevant.0

yeah you should get it in writting!!! however in writting or not does not garantee it is your property anyone can pull out up to exchange so they can change their minds at anytime the same as you can0

If you dont need to sell your house to complete on the new one then feel free to stop reading now...

However, if you need to sell your house to complete the purchase then i would put your into my "Timewasters" bucket for putting offers in on houses when you aren't in a position to complete. Sry, just yanks my chain, and havent even been on the receiving end of it myself!0 -
Thanks for your responses. Just to clarify we do not need to sell our house first (obviously it would be easier) but because we dont want to miss out on the new house we have managed to sort out a new mortgage with a deposit.
Our solicitor rang the purchasers EA last week so presumably it must be going through ok?0
