  • The economy will get better next year. That will start to happen on Thursday 3 June 2010 at the latest.

    hi Shadyone,
I fully understand your position. I,too, receive WTC,CTC and a small top up of HB + CTC. Being 'on benefits' means people automatically assume that we are not pulling in weight in society. I DO work! Bringing up 3 children with no support or help from their father is my first job (way more than 40hrs a week) and I also work in an office!!!
I lost my brother and my mother within 2 weeks of each other. When my sisters and I started talking about Probate I was still in shock. I still can't accept what happened and if there was a way to put the whole process off and have my brother back then I would do it.
Bereavement takes time to get over and its impossible to think past the loss. Also, as a parent, your first thoughts are going to be for your children and their future. Of course you will be thinking of some sort of long-term security and their education so don't let anyone on this forum make you feel bad for wanting to know if you can do this.
My mother left every thing to my brother in her will but in a seperate letter there were specific instructions to put a certain amaount in a trust fund for my 3 children. As my brother died first her will was not valid and a Judge deemed the inheritance was split equally between myself and my sisters. When I sought further advise I was told that putting the same amount into trust would be classed as 'disposal of assets'.
Whatever happens - Good luck for the future x
    One life.

So, that will be after the other dip which we will get in January according to David Buik, a wise man who worked for Cantor Index. He could be wrong of course and I hope he is but he does tend to get it right. He is often on Working Lunch on the BBC2 at 12.30pm. Things are picking up in the financial world but it is the millions who are out of work who are the main worry and we now have a surplus of houses for rent as peole have been unable to sell.
  • Some people are so quick to judge others whilst others don't and I am grateful to those :D
Sometimes you can only understand by being put in the same or similar situation as Jennihen.

There are added complications to this but I am not going to share as I don't need sympathy or sarcasm. This thread has helped me sort out things in my mind though, so thank you.
