Best credit card or pre-paid card to use in Japan?

I am travelling to Japan on holiday at the end of October and would like to know what's the best way to pay when I am out there. I was thinking of taking some cash from the UK (pre-order and collect at airport) and using my credit card when I am there. However from reading the various discussions, I am completely confused as to what is the best payment methods to use. Any advice?

  • Most CC charge when you use them abroad, Post Office credit card is free to use on any purchases abroad and you get a great range of exchange....

Be wary of airports and currency, you are likely to get charged a high rate of commission. Again the PO is 0% commission and should have it in stock.
