Wigs?

Options
Hi, I've been here before but I forgot my login details so I made a new name.

I heard you can get free wigs if you have IS so I have questions. Where do you get one from? Are they decent (or decent enough to not look like a wig)? Do you need a valid medical reason to get one?

Basically I want my wrinkly forehead covered up, but I don't like growing my hair (it becomes very messy).

I think you have to have a major medical reason = like alopecia or having to have chemo therapyr.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I dont know about if you have IS but my dd who is undergoing chemo got an NHS voucher and took it to a wig specialist and got a fantastic one for free (would have been £175!)

Is your wrinkly forehead or not being able to have your hair long due to a medical condition of some sort? As far as im aware the wigs are free for people who have hair loss due to a medical condition rather than personal choice

Hiya. You can get free wigs on nhs, sounds like you qualify if you have IS. You need a form hc1 which you can pick up from most nhs dentists or opticians, jobcentre... http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcosts/Pages/Prescriptioncosts.aspx

hope this helps, & good luck x
