For cheque payers I wouldn't normally start an NPB until at least day 10. I have always found cheque payers to be slow in paying but quick to want their goods.

I do dislike paying or being paid by cheque... it is just so slow and costs more!

When selling I have always encouraged people to pay by bank transfer by offering a discount and when buying from non-paypal sellers I will ask if I can use it.

It surprises me that over half of these sellers refuse to accept payment by bank transfer, as it speeds things up, saves me the cost of a stamp and saves them the trouble of going to the bank. I even had one the other day who gave their reason as 'our bank loses these things in their system'. Makes me wonder why they are still with that bank & why they put so much faith in the Royal Mail?

I tend to wait until the Tuesday after a weekend; I would probably send another e-mail today saying you will start the NPB process on Monday unless you hear from them.

Actually i am lying thats what i used to do...now I would wait till the 7 days are up and start the NPB...that usually wakens them if they are wanting to pay. To the others it makes no difference.

And as soon as fees are credited they get a negative feedback!!

I recently had an email from someone I started an NPB on, saying they thought they'd posted the cheque but hadn't
