Hi
Sorry if this has already been covered, but just after some advice regarding my gas prepayment meter.
I very recently moved into a rented house and have just put £15 onto my gas meter.
However, the display told me that £9.56 (approx) was for debt £1.11 (e/c - i think) and i was left with £4.50 - STILL in emergency credit!!! so could it be that the previous tenants have left a debt?
I did phone npower when i moved to advise them of a new tenant - but they said they wont change the name on the account until i fax them my tenancy agreement - which i will do on monday at work - but until then its not in my name - im not sure what to do?
Sorry if this sounds really trivial, but hope you can help!!
thanks
helen

did you take a start reading when you moved in? if so make sure to give npower that number when you fax the tennancy agreement over to them. also keep your receipts as you should be able to claim the money that you ended up paying towards the debt.
you will be able to see how much debt the previous tennant left by going through the screens on the meter and i think its screens 25 onwards that show how much debt there is.
it will get sorted but they need the tennancy agreement to prove that you are not the previous tennant trying to pull a fast one.Debt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy
Cash back earnt so far £14.570
