Does the OP live in Aberdeen? If not, is it relevant?
Probably not, but he was showing the UK average figures.
Does the OP live in the UK, probably so it is relevant
That said, it should only be used as a guide and local specific data should be researched.:wall:

I know that the last few months there have been rises in asking prices but do people already on the market really raise their prices on a monthly basis. I imagine it would'nt look too good to put your price up if you've been on the market (still not sold) but can understand new properties adding a few grand to the asking price, and they're getting away with it round here (SSRC or UO)
Is there a website the opposite of property snake that show houses that have risen their prices. I don't have property bee, I understand it's not working at the moment but looking on RM in my area I can't see any properties that have been on the market for a while riasing prices?
Any website exist to show this?0 -
Just bumping up this thread. Have you, or anyone you know of in your area put the price of their property up within the last few months (with reported increases in certain areas)??? Realistic sellers have dropped their price by a percentage since the crash, now rises have been reported from Hali and Nw in certain areas, have you seen properties been on market, increase their prices.
Is there a website that shows increases, unlike Property Snake that shows decreases?0 -

I'm not sure that any of the asking price rises and falls are relevant beyond marketing strategy and a general barometer of confidence.
The key thing is the achieved price, and they have been rising steadily since february, up between 8% and 10% on average.
Interestingly, there doesn't even appear to be a bulletproof correlation between asking price rises and achieved price rises as the indices have diverged several times this year, when asking prices fell but achieved prices rose anyway.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Being a seller over the last year or so I've felt so pessemistic, but seing figures rise makes me feel better. No doubt over the winter months they'll drop somewhat and I'll worry again, but come next spring I should feel some hope that we've passed the bottom of the market.
Ohhh, If we had crystal balls instead of all this speculation it would be better for sellers and buyers and banks alike!!
Doesn't work that way though!0 -

why is it taking you over a year and more to sell your house when houses are selling in weeks if they are priced right..???It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
We're trying to buy but being thwarted by the complete lack of things coming to market. All that's on Rightmove is the same old stuff that's been up for sale for ages (I think two years is the record from what we've looked at).
We know we're not the only buyers ready to dive in - for one house, we got a call about it on a Tuesday when the EA took the instruction, booked a viewing for Saturday, and got phoned on Friday to say viewing off, house has been sold! Not the only one we've heard about that's sold before it's even hit Rightmove.
Sold my flat in Feb this year, in a week, to the second person to view it. Getting fed up now of all these people sitting in houses that we want to buy.
