I bought a microwave from Argos in Apr 2003 just after I moved house. I bought it with the intention of only using it when I had managed to get my decorating done in the kitchen and for the time being I would use my old one.
One year or so later (2 months ago) I started using my new Microwave and in the last two weeks I spotted a fault as on the walls of the microwave I spotted two burn marks that had developed. These burn marks were located on the same area on both walls and both were the same lengh roughly 2 inches long.
Of course by this time my guarntee had run out but on the off chance considering the short time I had used it I thought I would email Sharp and see what they say. After a very quick response I gave them the further details of the marks they required.
After another quick response they said that due to the low cost of the item (it cost about £70 at the time) it wasn't worth repairing so they would replace it free of charge - which to be honest I was surprised about. Within a week of first contacting them I had a new Microwave delivery and they also said it was up to me to dispose of the old one as I wish.
A big thumbs up from me to Sharp 8) ;D
