Hi
Have just booked a holiday in Gozo, am now looking at flights, so far cheapest ive had is Air malta, but its just been pointed out its not ATOL protected, having never flown much, my experience with airlines is pretty limited, so what id like to ask is, what is the chances of this air line going bust by may next year, just been offered ATOL protected flights from another company but its almost £140 dearer, am on a limited budget as it is, so this is quite a lot extra for me , anyone give me any advice please?

Any airline might go bankrupt by May next year, even British Airways! From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.

Air Malta are NOT going to go bust. They are as good as state owned. If you have any trouble message me 'cos I';ve got the mobile number of the Managing Director and I'll have words.I run an event management company, I put on events, I go to events, if I don't know anything about events - its not worth knowing!:j:j:jNegotiate, Negotiate, and Negotiate again.:j:j:j0

I'm sorry my post was funnier than yours. Please don't cry. OK, cry, it would be quite funny. But on another note i can say that Air Malta's free snacky/mealy thing is very nice and on par with BA.I run an event management company, I put on events, I go to events, if I don't know anything about events - its not worth knowing!:j:j:jNegotiate, Negotiate, and Negotiate again.:j:j:j0

Depending where you are flying from I would be booking with Ryanair. Luton to Malta, then hire a car at the airport and drive over to Gozo. The car ferry will get you across in no time.
You often get flights for £10 each way.0 -
ATOL only really comes into play if you book a package i.e. flights + accommodation from the same operator, at the same time. What you've probably been offered is a flight with Airline Failure Protection built into the price. If you buy from a travel agent - this is what you will get - whether you book with Air Malta or another operator (however safest to double check with them at the time of booking).I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are S0466/3973. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority.
