    I think he doesn't want to add any more money to the pot (other than his lost desposit)

    Well yeah but if he can get out of it legally he's trying to.

    I got a quote for the same sized and quality carpet for £100 cheaper!

    but also he shoulsnt be paying now, as the three quotes have not bene provided clutton. What is the last quote is 200 quid cheaper - it happens.

    i am not saying pay the full amount asked - as i have already said the agent is looking for a second quote - this could be less
