My Update

  • SS you are a star. I showed my oh your text about keeping the e mail address and he agreed to look at changing broadband. Aol have confirmed that you can have an e mail only account with them for about two quid. Worth it if it saves us more and keeps oh happy as well. I have looked at loads of diff broadband companies and a lot are not in my area yet but have plans to install soon. My oh has got well into it now and just phoned aol to tell them he is thinking of cancelling.... they have reduced our price plan by £5.00 a month permanently. Might not seem like much but this matches the cheapest available broadband in my area and keeps oh happy.

He is now so proud of himself. Bless

In the long run you would be better to register your own domain name. In fact i would do that and gradually change over all the things you are subscribed to to do it and anythign new use your own domain. I find it much more easier and conveniant to have my email address as firstname@surname.org.uk
.org.uk addresses are very cheap and if you register with the previously mentioned company (who i work for indirectly so i wont mention them myself) you will be able to get them extemely cheap and it will be yours forever as long as you renew it every 2 years.
Dig inside; inside is the fountain of good, and it will forever flow, if you will forever dig.
  • Well......... the sky is going, my oh finally agrees that it costs too much. IF i cancel my sky I can use the box as a freeview box cant I. I hope so then I wont even have to buy a new box. Now all I have to do is find a peppa pig dvd for my little girl as that is her fave show and she will be gutted if she cant watch it while she is having her breakfast.

THE ONLY THING THAT IS NON NEGOTIABLE IS THE SKY. WE HAVE THIS HALF PRICE FOR THREE MONTHS AS WE SAID WE WERE GOING TO CANCEL BUT THIS IS OUR LUXURY. Well, I tried

Well heres my update, I am trying to do this every month so I can see where I am.
  • I reduced the sky down to its lowest package but my oh rang up to put it back up again as he **needed** to watch the charity shield match on sky!!

I now have two credit cards left so i am focussing on the smallest one which is about £365.00. I want this paid off asap and should be able to do so very quickly looking at what we should have left at the end of each month, I started a spending diary but it didn't last so next week I will try again as we never have that much left at the end of each month!!!!

I have got loads of pressies for christmas so far - some really good bargains, this is the first year that I have thought about christmas before december!!! I have £50 in a savings account, £100 in shopping vouchers and at least a third of my shopping done already!

I am doing the August e bay challenge and any money made will pay off my credit card - not expecting to clear much but it all helps.

Still going strong with quidco... i joined at the end of may and am up to about three hundred quid now.

I cant believe the difference that this site makes to peoples lives...

Martin - You deserve some sort of recognition for this!!! Look atthe difference you are making to peoples lives, Thank you

  • Well after a really good start I feel a bit deflated, the last couple of months we have paid loads of little things off and sorted out our budget. I think because we did so well when we started that we felt a bit over confident and
we relaxed the money saving and the meal planning. Now we have relaxed this we seem to be back to wasting money and only paying the minimum payments off our two remaining credit cards.

I feel so frustrated this morning and am determined to get us back on track.

I have my note pad and pen ready to begin my spending diary. I have also done the August e bay challenge and have raised £60.00 to pay off one of my credit cards. I will also be doing the September E bay challenge.:D

I am just learning to make jewellery (teaching myself-no classes available in my area) so I have spent some of my e bay money on supplies. I am going to try and set up my own little business when I have learnt properly, even if it is just selling stuff at craft fairs occaisionally.

As for meal planning thats back too - for good this time!!!!
