123-reg domain forwarding - HELP

I have purchased a domain with 123-reg and it is presently parked.
Whilst I develop my site itself, I have decided to forward to an affiliate landing page which I hope it may make a little bit more money than the parking itself.
My issue seems to be that I do not seem to be able to correctly forward using my affiliate referral link through the URL web page option - I would also like the link to remain "cloaked" when pulling through so my domain is still named and not my referral info in the url bar.
Firstly - how do I set this up in the control panel to forward properly
Secondly - Does masking remove the referral link needed at the other end, as I do not want to direct traffic without any conversions due to the masking.
Hope all makes more sense than 123-regs help page!!!
Thanks in advance,
Del

Sounds like you want to look for a DNS forwarding option.0

They do have a page within the control panel on it, but it is all to do with framed and non-framed forwarding....a simple method is all i need, GoDaddys is so clear and easy to follow but this site is a nightmare even with the new updated interface panel.
DO you have any idea on the masking/referral id issues and whether doing this way would stop my conversions if I were to get any?0 -
I think that depends on how the affiliate landing page detects where the traffic comes from.
You should probably read their help pages for advice.
A non-frame DNS redirect is the easiest way and it can be used for this sort of thing (and often is) - this makes it look like your domain name belongs to them, but it won't send html referer information. If your affiliate site uses this last method to track which traffic comes from your site, then you need to set up a web page on your domain with an automatic html redirection. (google 'html redirection')0 -
Explain further please - use https://www.mydomain.com and https://www.affill.com if it makes it easier.
I'm not sure whether you want to mask your own domain name or the affiliate.
I use 123-reg regularly so I can advise on which of the four options to choose.0 -
Hi,
I would like to forward from mydomain.com to aff.com landing page through webforwarding.
The aff.com landing page for forwarding will drop on a sign up page - but i do not want the forwarding from mydomain.com to this page to disclose my referral id in the url - so it is masked so to speak as if the forwarded page is one of my own ie. retains the mydomain.com url.
Does this masking method also mean that my referrals would not be picked up at the other end or can the aff.com website determine the traffic has come from me which is what I want.
Thanks - hope not confused the issue0
