Not PC literate so forgive me.
Have chkd out details on thread re wireless, but not understanding.
I am going to buy my 1st laptop today and had researched them, and settled on compaq cq61.,Seems it will do more than enough for my needs. Just gone wireless with sky and have noticed this laptop is wired, does that mean i cant use with wireless router and will be only able to use from a electrial socket in the house?.

I've looked up the specification of the CQ61 - you can use it wired or wirelessly.0

Presume this is what you was looking at
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/554383/COMPAQ-CQ61-220SA/tab/specification#spec ?
As HTML has said ..
the bit that says wired at the bottom ( under other features) just means you can connect it wired if you wish but has wireless built in alsoHave a nice day0 -

Yes thats the one. I'm pretty sure they were advertising it on website and instore at £359 few days ago when i chkd, now gone up £10. Laskeys are advertising at £349, with free del. Will try negotiating instore for same price.0

It also has a modem so you can also plug it into a phone line and use the old dial-up method if you don't have a better connection handy.
Long time since I bought anything from Comet, but they used to do a price-match thing where they'd match any competitor's price.0
