Ordered coat, out of stock, but card charged!!!

I ordered a Berghaus coat from simplyhike.co.uk on 15th September. It showed on the website that it was in stock.

I get an email back on 21st stating the item is out of stock and suggesting a replacement in a different colour.
I replied stating I only wanted the initial colour I had ordered, and therefore asked them to cancel my order.
They confirmed the order was cancelled on the 22nd.

Today, I get my Visa bill (which I always pay off in full), and guess what, the amount of £55.46 was billed for on the 15th.

The website states the charge is made on dispatch of the item.

I have emailed them today to complain. I have phoned too, but they have a 24 hour order line available all weekend, but no customer services until 10am Monday to speak to. I work full time Monday to Friday and have difficulty making personal calls while at work, but will have no choice but to leave it till Monday to sort out!!!

I am really annoyed to say the least.

When they refund me my money, my visa bill statement is already in, so how do I pay the total bill amount, minus the refund amount without being charged interest???

I will never deal with them again after this hassle!

Unlucky, i reccomend telling your bank to charge them instead for the mistake, and tell the berghaus coat seller to pay your costs and interest.
    Owed out = lots.

If the retailer processes the refund prior to your cc payment being due, you will not incur any interest on the amount. Problem solved!
    Gone ... or have I?

Rather dramatic! I expect when the OP gets through to the customer service department they will sort it out prompty.

Remember you can only do a chargeback after giving the company concerned sufficient time and notice to fix the issue themselves.
