First post question.....

Hi folks, long time lurker here and finally decided to join up and seek some advice so please forgive my first post being a call for help/advice.

im not sure if im putting this in the correct section also so apologies if im not.

Ok so, to keep it as short as possible.

i have outstanding bills with my gas and elec suppliers from a previous address just under a year ago which i had been paying off monthly. When i missed a payment, they called me and i explained that i had lost my job and could not pay a penny untill i was emplayed again and had a steady income.

They extended the date i had to pay by till the end of August when they tried to call me but i had no missed calls etc etc and in short they sent a bill to let me know i had missed a payment/ not been called back and that the full amount is owing (approx £300 so nothing to earth shattering).

My question to you wise folks is........

Before i call them back to sort this mess out, is there anything i should be saying or not sayiong and where do i stand with extra charges etc etc.

While i am emplyed again and getting a steady pay now, i cannot afford to pay it off in one lump sum which is what i expect they will ask me to do.

Anyway hopefulyl thats made a bit of sense and thanks in advance for anyone that can offer me some advice.

Cheers, John

They will probably be able to offer you a short term payment plan at least - over 3-6 months.
Are you with the same supplier at your new address? If so, they can add the balance you your new account and set up a plan for the balance and your ongoing consumption (you might get this to 12 months).
If you are not with them, would you consider going back?

If you phone up with an offer for part payment, and looking to make a plan for the rest I can't see a reason for them to say no.
  • cheers for that, its what i expected to be honest.

i wouldnt go back to them as i had a bad time with them at the previous address.

Will call them monday and see what happens lol, cheers again.
