Compared on what's available on the market though its quite poor.0

It's not really new (from LTSB as a company). I had that offer in my secure area for the last 12 months my dormant Platinum card was open.
If you're trying to avoid a credit search it's a 'fair' offer (in that it'll pay for itself after 2-3 months depending on your rate elsewhere) but, as has been inferred, you can get at least twice the duration on a new card.0
