No landline

:confused::confused:Hi All

Just a quick note, my daughter katie is moving into her first home, she has managed to set up evrything but her internet, because althought she has a phone point in the flat. She cannot get the phoneline, so she can use the internet, until she pays £125.00 to Bt. We know that you can get the internet without a landline, but it would be easer, with the landline. Please can eveny one tell us a cheaper phonelone provider or the best stailihe provider

  • I use an internet dongle but have just posted a query on the BT thread re the same issue. I believe BT are offering free connection until December - check out the front page of the site

    If she's going to be staying there for 18 months, BT have a free installation/connection offer on at the moment if she'll agree to an 18 month contract and make at least 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month (so they should cost nothing).

    0800 100 444, ask for the Cutomer Options Team AND DON'T BE FOBBED OFF WITH RUBBISH LIKE, "The offer only applies if you have ginger hair and own a dog called Cynthia."
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Good idea in theory but for many people they will not get a signal indoors, it all depends upon where you live and what your property is made of (stone or brick etc.). The flats above me get fine 3 Broadband but I get no signal.

    Was in PC World the other day and someone was returning laptop, Vodafone dongle etc because despite predictor saying they could get it they had no signal.
