Fixmywin.com virus? Help please

Hi

Im having major problems with my computer at the moment. I turned it on yesterday and now all the time, every single website i go on starts up normally. Then after a few seconds the address line changes and the whole left hand side of the page changes from the website im visiting to advertising for fixmywin.com. It takes up the left hand quarter of the page and the bottom so i cannot scroll down to the bottom of the page either. It will not go no matter what i do. I have ran spybot, ad aware, and anti virus and they cannot find any problems. I have entered the website into pop up blocker but still no look, its still here. Any ideas please?

Its doing it at the moment as well, the address bar says:
http://www.fixmywin.com/? - followed by this thread

Thanks for your advice. I have tried to follow the thread but the problem is that everytime i click on a link to download e.g to get Ewido Security Suite or even when i clicked on the link that you gave it just goes straight through to fixmywin.com. It does not let me do anything else other that go onto that website. Any other ideas?

Hi,
do you have a virus checker, adware killer etc.?
If not , get someone to dowload them for you, install and run them.

download it on your PC.. it should work because its the direct link to the download, just click "save", if it doesnt work, as littlejo said, download it onto someone else's PC and run it on your PC. do an update and run it. should do the job.. hopefully!

if not, try and do a system restore... start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore... restore it to an earlier date when your PC was running fine

Thank you all for your advice, brilliant. Solved the problem i think. Restored as Skiddy told me to and hey presto, problem has gone. Thanks again all

I would still run through the steps in that thread in case it was "lurking" in the restore points somewhere !
