surely an OR would leave such an older car alone, we are going to voluntary hand back our HP credit car to finance company and buy one about £750 but after what has been said above is it worth spending the money on it, only for it potentially grabbed by the OR to be sold back to us for a couple of hundred pounds that we wont be able to afford.
think i might just not voluntary hand back the HP infested car and keep it till its reposessed which hopefully might take a while as we have only just paid over a third of it and i hope im right in what im about to write, if we have paid a third of the finance they will have to go to court for repossession??
do go BR Suzie, my friend did last year in similiar circumstances to you, it will be the best move you ever make and give you back control of your life, im hoping our lives are better after our Nov 09 BR date
best wishes

What is relief????
just me, not knowing the correct terminology....remission is maybe the correct term?
Which you seem to have gained?
go for it....BR really does allow one to get oneself together.......No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Not everyone looses their car, infact most get to keep them especially if:
your car is valued at less than 2k
You need your car for work
you need your car due to illness
you are a carer for someone
If you are not in work you could argue you need the car to get to job interviews and for potential new job.0 -

You need your car for work
you need your car due to illness
you are a carer for someone

the most important thing is get as much proof to back up why you need the car rather than want..if that makes sense

sorry phil the post should have read
if the car is worth less than 2k AND
you need your car for work or
you need your car due to illness or
you are a carer for someone
basically if its worth less than 2k and you can proove you need it you may get to keep it. nothing is set in stone where cars are concerned infact the final decision may be down to what mood your OR is in.
If he says you cant keep it you may be able to buy the beneficial interest in it.0 -
Sorry folks for all your help but I have cancelled BR for now, just could not take the chance, plus my nan died this morning.
