The code is a Julian code which helps the manufacturers trace there products in the event of a product recall. L = factory or line the product was made on. 9 = year 2009. 263 = day produced day 263 represents 20th September. 12:33 = the time the product was produced.
Therefore you can quite easily play with the time and possibly win. I wouldn't waste time trying to change any thing else within the code though because you don't know what that line was packing the day before or after. Hope that helps.
