To be clear! Only one payment per household. ie 2 persons get basic £125 each.:rolleyes:0

Why are my & your Taxes being used to pay this allowance to over 60's living abroad & to those who's financail postion does not warrent such payments being made ?
Instead, the money would be better spent properly insulating homes & improving outdated heating systems, along with increasing the allowance levels to those most in need. You live..You learn.:)0 -
Yes the Pensions serviced site says you have to be 60 on or before 27 September. I was 60 in November and retired and definitely 60 when winter really started in December. It has been essential to keep the heating on almost continuously since 1st December. But no winter fuel payment for me. God knows how I will afford the gas bill this quarter. (and incidentally no state pension which I would have received if female and born on the same date - yes I know pension age for women is increasing gradually from next year!)0

I just find it really irritating, I was 60 on 14 October so am 17 days too young to get the fuel allowance this year - still had to live through the winter though! Grrrr0
