2009 Christmas Shoebox charities

  • Hi, if you are thinking of donating a present or gift the Salvation Army do a christmas present appeal every year. They wrap the presents and give them to people who may not get anything else, children in hospital, the elderly etc. I started donating last year, it was my sons first christmas and I felt I needed to start a tradition that will show him that Christmas is about family and thinking about others not just how many presents you get. You can drop the presents off at any Salvation Army centre. I hope this helps.

Can't find any shoe boxes this year. I've got all the bits to fill two but no boxes. I've been very late off the mark, haven't I? Where did you get your boxes from? Clarks told me they don't keep their boxes though I'm sure I got them from there last year.

Hi I have just found this thread and think its fantastic, every year I say I will do something for someone less fortunate than us and never do which is awful so this year again I said I would do something. The shoe box appeal closing date is today at our school but I have just called and they said I can send it in tomorrow so I am sat working out what to put in now. I so far have some sweets/lollypops and brand new set of 10 animal finger puppets, 2 little books, a 24 pack or crayons, pencils, a balloon set and a couple of Disney figures. As I haven't done this before I wasn't sure if this was enough stuff??? Any help, info or suggestions will be fab but please reply asap as I must have it in tomo

    Thanks lots
