Books or websites on How to Invest?

I am looking for books or websites where I can learn more about investment options. I found some books in WHS smith but they were a bit too serious or advanced...More of a dummy guide is what I am after but still informative....Or if there are some good websites too with that information I would greatly appreciate it.

Some of the information I need is for me to work out for example if its better to pay for a house cash or its better to use a mortgage....

  • Hi sherry, I hope you will not feel insulted to learn there is actualy a book called "Investing for Dummies"

You can have a look inside at amazon:

The reviews are generally favorable, but it was written in 2004 and obviously a lot has happened since then.

Personally I have always found the Hargreaves Lansdown and thisismoney sites useful and informative, but for a specific option it might really be best to seek professional advice.
