Sterling credit card with non-UK address

I have a SAGA Visa card serviced by Liverpool Victoria, offering no commission charges on Eurozone purchases, which is important as we live permanently in France with no UK address. SAGA has now left LV and is using Allied Irish Bank, but AIB say they cannot offer us a new card as we have no UK address and they cannot check our credit history. Is there any way round this with any other card issuer? Can anyone advise, please?

If you hold a uk bank account with regular credits going in they could be your best bet for a CC. It's difficult for people permanently non resident in uk to have such an account as it's against British Banking Association guidelines. Hopefully by using this wording I'll avoid hordes of people "Living abroad" contradicting me.

Thanks, bryanb. I should have said I do have other UK credit cards, but these DO charge a commission for transactions in Europe. SAGA (via AIB) do not, and my research suggests that Nationwide and Santander also offer commission-free transactions; but both require a UK address. I am looking for a sterling credit card card which I can repay in sterling each month, but which allows transactions in euros without commission.
