I've bought a lot of stuff from Richer but increasingly I'm annoyed by them advertising stuff they don't seem to have. Overall their prices seem a fair bit less competitive nowadays, they used to be absolutely unbeatable.

I think to a large extent the service you get depends on the staff- my local store is pretty poor but I have had outstanding service in the past from other stores.

I have never had any probs with Richer and heartily recommend them too. (which I have done many times)

OK, advertising things and then not having stock is naughty but their prices are generally very cheap and their service is excellent too. (so i think I can forgive them for this)

How many places that sell hi-fi goods at similar prices (internet!!!) allow you to go to their place of business and sit and listen to the equipment that you're going to buy AND will actually try to piece together the equipment that you have at home to give you a genuine listening experience AND give you a cup of coffee at the same time AND at the end will let you walk away without giving you any undue pressure to purchase!!!!

You don't even get this service or level of knowledge at currys,comet etc when paying rrp!!!!

(I should add after reading Raves comments (above) that i havent purchased anything from them for about a year so things may have changed - I really hope they havent!!)

I have also gotten a few things from them. An MP3 player at Christmas. I could not work it so took it back, someone showed me how to get it going and spent 30 minutes just on me. Gave me a different model in the end that was more user friendly. Pretty good and they know what they are talking about. Just wish they opened earlier that 1200. Bit of a wasted day when you live 40 miles away.
