Can Amazon vouchers be used only on Amazon items, or also on items from other sellers

Hi.

Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong forum, couldn't quite decide where to post this

Anyway, i just got my first survey voucher ever :j and i chose it for Amazon.

Basically what i want to know is can it be redeemed now, even if i don't want to buy anything, and just have the money stay on my Amazon account? Or do i have to redeem when i am purchasing something?

Secondly, can i use t only on items bought directly from Amazon, or can i use to buy used items from other sellers?

Not sure about the first one, but I've used vouchers on marketplace purchases, so it doesn't have to be just from amazon (unless they've changed the rules recently- it was a couple of months ago).

Yes it can be redeemed now. Go into your account and click on apply a gift certificate to your account. Put in the number and that's that. It'll sit there until you want to use it.

Thanks alot! Has anyone got a certain answer on whether the voucher can be used for the purpose of buying market place items?

Vouchers can only be used to purchase items sold by Amazon. You can't buy from other sellers.

That's wrong, I've used vouchers for marketplace items before. Not all sellers accept vouchers though.

Terms and conditions seem to be the same on all vouchers:

1) Gift certificates may only be redeemed at our Web site,
http://www.amazon.co.uk, toward the purchase of products listed in
Amazon.co.uk's online catalogue sold by Amazon.co.uk. They cannot be
redeemed at Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca
or at any of Amazon.co.uk's Auctions or zShops stores or
Amazon.co.uk's Trusted Partner Sites.

I can see it says contrary on the t&cs but I've used vouchers for shop sellers on amazon, quite a few times. Best bet is to put the item through to checkout and see if it takes off the vouchers.

I sent an enquiry and this is what Amazon said:

"Amazon.co.uk Marketplace orders work differently to orders placed through the Amazon.co.uk retail store. Because orders from third-party sellers are not fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk, not all third party sellers are able to accept Amazon.co.uk gift certificates. You can only use Amazon.co.uk gift certificates on the items sold by Amazon.co.uk and Amazon's Preferred Merchant, Indigostarfish.com."
