Hi need help with ppi - please help!!!

Hi

I was reading about claiming PPI and I was wandering if it was the same for car finance.

I took out car insurance with YES car credit about 5 years ago and paid a monthly premium, i was told that i needed to have payment insurance, i was able to pay the balance early. But for 3 years had paid PPI and part of my one monthly premium.

Will i have a case, im sure the finance was underwritten by provident but im not 100%. I dont have all the contract and finance papers at home but didnt want to start writing letters if it was pointless.

Many Thanks
Neil

Neil, its never pointless as this site shows. I would get a letter sent to them but you actually write to whoever sold you the insurance. I know this is a long shot as it was 5 years ago and before regulations (2005) but some firms were signed up to the General Insurance standards council and FOS will look into complaints about firms that were part of this. I don;t know if anyone else will post and say if they were or not but maybe give the FOS a call to see so you know where you stand if they do say no to you. Its always worth a stamp.

Take a look at the reclaiming guide here

and see if any reasons apply to you. There is a template letter to use but best to use it as guide really. Its up to you, and then send the letter by recorded delivery and you then give the firm 8 weeks for a full and final response.

    Good luck

    Hello and welcome.;)

Yes it is, so if you have a case of being mis sold give it a go.

You have a good reason here, you actually write to reclaim on the ones who arranged and sold you the finance.

Will i have a case, im sure the finance was underwritten by provident but im not 100%. I dont have all the contract and finance papers at home but didnt want to start writing letters if it was pointless.
Yes you do with your reasons.
Glad you kept all the paperwork, saves you requesting for this.

    Many Thanks
    Neil

Neil, you write as stated to the ones who sold you the finance, give them your reasons and do not worry about writing in the amounts.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full, keep at them until they resolve in your favour, or until they issue you with the final decision, if eligible they will in the final decision enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), where you can take your complaint to these if your not satisfied with the outcome.

Best to post by recorded delivery as well, this is your proof of posting.

More on the link below, with templates etc, good luck and please post up for more help if required and please keep us posted.;)
